Handmade pots

Oh happy day!

I first saw Word Press back in 1998 while living near Seattle, Wa. Beautiful pages about science and spirituality. I knew someday I would like to write about my feelings and insights. Now in 2014 it seems so important to speak from the heart.

I am writing here today partly because of reading a 2012 edition of By Hand Magazine. A wonderful publication which celebrates using our hands in work and joy. I experience deep peace in mind while knitting, sewing, throwing pots, gardening, playing guitar and cooking,. Working with my hands, I am centered and at home in my body. The busy world is spinning about me energetically but I am rooted and grounded like a great oak tree, aware yet not encumbered. It’s as if the entire cosmos is channeled down to this single space and time right between my fingers. How precious to experience such a vast and yet private interconnection. Each time a human being uses his or her hands in work or play they are connected to all others using their hands. We each work in our tiny space on the globe and yet we are all one.

So as Thanksgiving approaches l offer deep gratitude to my hands!
